MVUTANO wa kisiasa, tamaa ya uongozi na mapambano ya kumrithi Rais William Ruto 2032 yanaanza kutishia kampeni yake ya kutafuta muhula wa pili 2027 katika Bonde la Ufa, eneo ambalo ni ngome yake kuu ya kisiasa. Makundi mawili yanaonekana kumakinikia siasa za urithi wa uongozi wa eneo huku baadhi ya viongozi wakituhumiwa kuelekeza nguvu zao kwenye uchaguzi wa 2032 badala kuhakikisha Rais Ruto anashinda uchaguzi wa 2027. Kiini cha mzozo huo ni ushindani wa kisiasa kati ya Waziri wa Usalama wa Ndani, Kipchumba Murkomen, na Kiongozi wa Wengi katika Seneti, Aaron Cheruiyot. Baadhi ya wabunge na viongozi wengine wameanza kujiunga na pande zinazowapigia debe wanasiasa hao wawili. Juhudi za kuwatafuta Mabw Murkomen na Cheruiyot kuhusu suala la kuanzisha kampeni za mapema za 2032 hazikufua dafu kwa kuwa hawakujibu simu au jumbe walizotumiwa Mbunge wa Belgut, Nelson Koech, amekiri kuwa mjadala kuhusu nani atamrithi Rais Ruto 2032 umeanza kutawala siasa za Bonde la Ufa, hali ambayo anasema inaweza kuvuruga kampeni za 2027. Bw Koech alikanusha kuwa anaegemea mrengo wa Seneta Cheruiyot, lakini akasema ushindani huo umeanza kusababisha migawanyiko unaotatiza kampeni za Rais Ruto. "Watu wamesahau kwamba kwanza tunapaswa kushughulikia 2027 kabla hata ya kufikiria 2032. Wanaojihusisha na siasa za urithi wanamdharau Rais kwa sababu huwezi kurithi kile ambacho baba yako bado anamiliki," akasema Bw Koech kwenye mahojiano na Taifa Leo. Mbunge huyo, ambaye ni mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Ulinzi katika Bunge la Kitaifa, alionya kuwa viongozi wanaoanza kampeni za kumrithi kiongozi aliye madarakani kabla ya muda wake kuisha mara nyingi huishia kupoteza ushawishi na kuzama kisiasa. Alisema baadhi ya viongozi wenye nyadhifa za juu serikalini wanapaswa kuelekeza nguvu zao katika kumsaidia Rais Ruto kupata muhula wa pili badala ya kufuatilia maslahi yao ya kibinafsi. Kwa mujibu wa takwimu za Tume Huru ya Uchaguzi na Mipaka (IEBC), kaunti zinazokaliwa na jamii ya Kalenjin—Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Bomet, Kericho, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot na Baringo—zinatarajiwa kuwa na zaidi ya wapigakura milioni 3.2 waliojiandikisha kufikia uchaguzi wa 2027. Idadi hiyo inaweza kuwa juu zaidi kutokana na uwepo wa Wakalenjin pia kwenye sehemu kubwa ya Kaunti ya Nakuru na pia Narok. Bw Koech alisema changamoto ya usajili wa wapigakura inapaswa kuwa kipaumbele badala ya viongozi kujihusisha na siasa za 2032. Alisema Wakalenjin milioni 1.2 bado hawajajisajili kupiga kura, hali ambayo inaweza kuathiri pakubwa juhudi za Rais Ruto kutafuta muhula wa pili. "Tunapaswa kutafuta mikakati ya kutatua tofauti zetu ili kwanza tushughulikie 2027. Kwa sasa kura kutoka Murang'a na Kiambu karibu zinaweza kufuta kura zote za Wakalenjin," akasema. Seneta wa Nandi Samson Cherargei naye amemvamia Bw Murkomen, akidai hamakinikii kampeni za Rais Ruto huku akimakinikia kuwasambaratisha viongozi wasiokuwa kambi yake . Bw Cherargei alisema hatakubali kulazimishwa kumuunga mkono Bw Murkomen na akapinga madai kwamba yuko katika kambi ya Bw Cheruiyot. "Sitamwaabudu. Hata akidhamini mgombea dhidi yangu, hatafanikiwa. Kwa nini anaendesha kampeni za 2032 na kuzua mvutano miongoni mwa viongozi badala ya kumsaidia Rais?" akauliza. Mnamo Agosti 5, Mbunge wa Keiyo South Gideon Kimaiyo pia alimkosoa Bw Murkomen hadharani, akidai anaingilia siasa za eneobunge lake. Bw Kimaiyo alisema viongozi wanapaswa kuacha za urithi na kuelekeza nguvu zao katika kuhakikisha Rais Ruto anamaliza muhula wake wa kwanza akiwa na rekodi nzuri ya maendeleo. Mbunge wa Aldai, Marriane Kitany, naye amewataka viongozi wa Bonde la Ufa kuwa na umoja, akisema ushindi wa 2027 haupaswi kuchukuliwa kuwa ushatimia. "Tusidhani kwamba tuna urais na kwamba Rais ashachaguliwa. Ukweli ni kwamba kura zetu zinahitajika ili Ruto achaguliwe tena na ashinde kwa idadi kubwa," akasema Bi Kitany pia alitetea rekodi ya maendeleo ya Rais Ruto katika eneo hilo, akitaja miradi mbalimbali ya miundombinu, viwanja vya michezo, nyumba za gharama nafuu na usambazaji wa umeme. Alisema viongozi wanapaswa kuhakikisha miradi hiyo inakamilika ili iweze kuwa msingi wa kampeni za 2027. Mzozo huo unatokea wakati Rais Ruto mwenyewe amekuwa akionyesha wasiwasi kuhusu kiwango cha usajili wa wapigakura Bondeni. Akizungumza katika mazishi Bomet mnamo Mei 1, Rais alisema Wakalenjin milioni 1.8 wenye vitambulisho hawajajisajili kupiga kura, huku wengine 500,000 waliofikisha umri wa miaka 18 pia wakiwa hawajajisajili. Alisema hali hiyo inamlazimisha kutafuta uungwaji mkono katika maeneo mengine ilhali ngome yake ina idadi kubwa ya wapigakura ambao bado hawajajiandikisha.
