MAONI: Ushindi wa DCP Ol Kalou si picha halisi ya kura za 2027
MATOKEO ya uchaguzi mdogo wa eneobunge la Ol Kalou yanapaswa kudadisiwa kwa jicho la pili. Ushindi wa mgombea wa chama cha Democracy for Citizen Party (DCP) dhidi ya mgombea wa UDA unaibua mengi. Matokeo ya uchaguzi huo yamefasiriwa kama ishara ya talaka kati ya eneo la Mlima Kenya na chama cha UDA. Picha hiyo huenda si ya kuaminika kama taswira kamili ya uchaguzi mkuu ujao katika taifa zima. Msisimko na hisia za kudhulumiwa kwa aliyekuwa naibu wa rais Rigathi Gachagua kisiasa yalichangia pakubwa katika matokeo hayo kwani wapigakura walihisi kutengwa na kuamua kuiadhibu serikali kwa maamuzi ya kumbandua Rigathi Gachagua serikalini. Ikichunguzwa kwa makini, ngome hiyo imeegemea upande wa upinzani bila sera maalum isipokuwa msukumo wa wimbi la ghadhabu. Wapigakura Ol Kalou waliiona fursa hiyo kama ya kipekee ya kumfuta machozi mmoja wao ambaye ni kinara wa DCP hasa baada ya upinzani kushindwa katika chaguzi ndogo za maeneobunge ya Malava, Mbeere Kaskazini na Emurua Dikirr. Upinzani umepata ushindi katika ngome yake wala si maeneo mengine nchini. Kwa hivyo hauwakilishi hali halisi ya uchaguzi mkuu ambao utashirikisha wananchi kutoka taifa zima. Ingawa wananchi wengi katika eneobunge la Ol Kalou walijitokeza kupiga kura, kuna uwezekano wa baadhi ya wapigakura kutoka ngome ya DCP kukosa mvuto wa kujitokeza kupiga kura katika uchaguzi mkuu ujao. Ni wazi kuwa upinzani ukikosa kuwa na mwaniaji wa urais kutoka eneo hilo - ambaye mara nyingi huwa kichocheo cha wengi kujituma kupiga, kura nyingi hazitapigwa. Waziri Wycliffe Oparanya kuazimia kuwa mgombea mwenza wa urais katika serikali ya muungano, ni hesabu tata ya kuangamiza juhudi za Linda Mwananchi kumnadi Edwin Sifuna katika eneo la Magharibi. Katibu mkuu Francis Atwoli pamoja na viongozi wakongwe kisiasa katika eneo la Magharibi wameonyesha dalili za kuitetea hatamu ya pili ya rais William Ruto. Hili ni pigo kwake Sifuna ambaye anafanya jaribio la kutanua mbawa zake kisiasa kwa mara ya kwanza. Mbinu hizo za serikali zitayeyusha nguvu za upinzani ikizingatiwa kuwa Linda Mwananchi inapigiwa upatu na wanasiasa walio katika upinzani ambao bado haujafanya maamuzi ya ni nani atawania nafasi ya urais. Eneo la Mlima Kenya bado linakumbwa na siasa za mpasuko wa Mlima Kenya Magharibi na Mlima Kenya Mashariki. Hii itadhoofisha nguvu za chama cha DCP katika ukanda huo wa nchi. Uchaguzi ujao utashindwa na yule atakayeweza kunasa nyoyo za wananchi kwa sera madhubuti za kuipa nchi mkondo mpya kiuchumi. Iwapo serikali itatekeleza miradi iliyoahidi katika kila eneo nchini na kurahisisha gharama ya maisha, basi upinzani utakuwa na kibarua kigumu kujinadi. Hongera OlKalau kwa kuwafunza Wakenya kuwa pesa na zawadi za kuwafumba macho wapigakura hazina thamani katika kumchagua kiongozi. Mlivipokea vingi lakini mkafanya uamuzi bila kupofushwa na misaada ya kuchumbiwa ya muda mfupi. Rekodi hii ikihifadhiwa katika kumbukumbu za wapigakura basi hongo na ulaghai wa kisiasa zitafika kikomo na demokrasia kunawiri humu nchini.
