Wanga azua gumzo kwa kusafiri na Ruto katika helikopta moja na rais
GAVANA wa Homa Bay Gladys Wanga amejikuta tena katikati ya gumzo la kisiasa baada ya kuonekana akisafiri kwa helikopta ya Jeshi la Anga pamoja na Rais William Ruto wakati wa ziara yake ya maendeleo katika Kaunti ya Siaya Jumanne. Video iliyosambaa mtandaoni ilimuonyesha Mwenyekiti huyo wa kitaifa wa ODM akishuka kutoka kwa helikopta hiyo pamoja na Rais Ruto baada ya wawili hao kusafiri pamoja kati ya maeneo mbalimbali aliyozuru kiongozi wa nchi. Mchanganuzi wa siasa Walter Opiyo alisema matumizi ya chombo hicho cha Rais ni ishara inayoweza kutafsiriwa kama ukaribu na mamlaka. Alisema helikopta za Rais kwa kawaida hutumiwa na Rais na kikosi chake cha usalama, hivyo kuruhusu kiongozi mwingine kuingia ndani yake kunaweza kuibua maswali kuhusu nafasi yake katika uongozi. "Helikopta ya Rais si matatu. Anayeingia ndani yake lazima afahamu itifaki kuhusu urais na awe mtu anayeaminika. Wanga anaposafiri na Rais, inaonyesha sasa yuko karibu na kitovu cha serikali jumuishi," alisema Opiyo. Aliongeza kuwa safari hiyo ilimpa Wanga muda wa kuwa karibu na Rais bila hadhira. "Dakika hizo angani zinaweza kuwa muhimu zaidi kuliko saa nyingi jukwaani. Hapo ndipo mazungumzo muhimu ya kisiasa yanaweza kufanyika," alisema. Mchanganuzi mwingine, Michael Kojo, alisema hatua hiyo ilikuwa na ujumbe wa kisiasa. "Akiwa mwenyekiti wa ODM, lazima aonyeshe kwamba ushirikiano wa chama na serikali unafanya kazi. Kusafiri na Rais na wote kuvaa kofia za ODM ni ujumbe kwamba ushirikiano huo unaendelea vizuri," alisema. Wanga ana uwezo wa kukodi helikopta yake kama gavana na amewahi kufanya hivyo. Hata hivyo, mara kadhaa amekuwa akisafiri na Rais Ruto anapozuru eneo la Nyanza. Kojo alisema Wanga pia anaweza kuwa anasisitiza ushawishi wake wa kisiasa na kujiweka katika nafasi ya majukumu ya kitaifa siku zijazo. Katika ibada ya maombi katika kanisa la Voice of Salvation and Healing, Kisumu, Jumapili, Wanga aliketi upande wa kushoto wa Rais baada ya Gavana wa Kisumu Anyang' Nyong'o. Katika miezi ya hivi karibuni, wafuasi wake wamekuwa wakimtaja kama mmoja wa wanaoweza kuwania wadhifa wa Naibu Rais, huku yeye akisema ODM haitakubali chochote chini ya kiti hicho katika mpango wowote wa kisiasa wa siku zijazo. Hata hivyo, Wanga pia analenga kuchaguliwa tena kuwa Gavana wa Homa Bay. Safari ya Jumanne haikuwa mara ya kwanza kwa Wanga kupanda helikopta ya Rais. Mapema mwaka huu, alinaswa kwenye video akikimbia kuingia kwenye helikopta hiyo pamoja na Mbunge wa Suna East Junet Mohamed. Kojo alisema kuonekana kwake mara kwa mara pamoja na Rais kunaashiria nafasi yake inayokua katika mawasiliano kati ya ODM na serikali. Wakati wa ziara hiyo, kulionekana alama za vyama tofauti katika mikutano, baadhi ya wananchi wakiwa wamevalia rangi za UDA, wengine za chungwa za ODM na wachache kofia za MDG. Rais na Wanga walionekana wakivalia kofia zinazofanana za ODM waliposhuka kutoka kwenye helikopta. Tukio hilo linakumbusha pia ziara ya Rais Ruto katika Kisiwa cha Rusinga, Homa Bay, Agosti 2024, ambapo Wanga alialikwa ndani ya gari rasmi la Rais na kuhutubia wananchi kupitia paa la gari.
