Viongozi waanza kuhama vyama wakijipanga kwa 2027
VYAMA vikuu vya kisiasa nchini vinaendelea kukumbwa na wimbi la viongozi kuhama huku maandalizi ya uchaguzi mkuu wa 2027 yakishika kasi. Chama tawala cha United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Jubilee na Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) ni miongoni mwa vyama vinavyoathiriwa zaidi na mabadiliko hayo ya kisiasa. Kwa mujibu wa wachambuzi, viongozi wengi wanatafuta vyama vipya wanavyoamini vitawaongezea nafasi ya kushinda uchaguzi, huku wengine wakihama kutokana na migawanyiko ya kisiasa na mabadiliko ya miungano. Ndani ya ODM, viongozi wanaohusishwa na mrengo wa Linda Mwananchi wametangaza kuwa watazindua chama kipya watakachotumia katika uchaguzi mkuu wa mwaka ujao. Mbunge wa Saboti Caleb Amisi tayari amejiunga na chama cha People's Renaissance Movement (PM Party). Viongozi wengine wanaotarajiwa kuondoka ODM ni Katibu Mkuu Edwin Sifuna, Seneta wa Vihiga Godfrey Osotsi, wabunge Wilberforce Oundo (Funyula), Babu Owino (Embakasi Mashariki), Caroli Omondi (Suba Kusini), Anthony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache Kusini), Seneta wa Kisii Richard Onyonka na Mbunge wa Kitutu Masaba Clive Gisairo. Seneta Osotsi alisema chama kipya kitakuwa makao ya viongozi wa Linda Mwananchi, akidai uamuzi wa ODM kushirikiana na Rais William Ruto uliwavunja moyo wafuasi wengi. Mbunge wa Suba Kusini Caroli Omondi pia anasema hatawania tena kiti chake kupitia ODM, bali atatumia chama kingine. Wakati huo huo, UDA imeendelea kupoteza uungwaji mkono katika eneo la Mlima Kenya huku viongozi wengi wakijitenga na chama hicho na kuelekea Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) cha aliyekuwa Naibu Rais Rigathi Gachagua. Gavana wa Murang'a Irungu Kang'ata na Mbunge wa Kiharu Ndindi Nyoro tayari wametangaza kuwa hawatatetea viti vyao kupitia UDA, ingawa bado hawajatangaza vyama watakavyotumia. Bw Nyoro alisema wananchi wa Mlima Kenya wamepoteza imani na UDA. Viongozi wengine waliojiunga na DCP ni Maseneta John Methu (Nyandarua), Joe Nyutu (Murang'a), Karungo Thang'wa (Kiambu) na James Murango pamoja na wabunge Benjamin Gathiru almaarufu Mejja Donk (Embakasi Kati), James Gakuya (Embakasi Kaskazini) na Edward Muriu (Gatanga). Katika eneo la Magharibi, Seneta wa Kakamega Boni Khalwale ametangaza kuhusishwa na chama kipya cha United Patriotic Movement (UPM) ambacho kinasubiri kusajiliwa kikamilifu. Kwa upande mwingine, Naibu Gavana wa Kakamega Ayub Savula na Mbunge wa Kiminini Bisau Kakai, ambao kwa sasa wako DAP-K, tayari wametangaza nia ya kuwania viti kupitia UDA. Aliyekuwa Mbunge wa Kieni Kanini Kega, ambaye aliteuliwa katika Bunge la Afrika Mashariki kupitia Jubilee, pia amejiunga na DCP. Mbunge wa Embakasi Magharibi Mark Mwenje naye ameashiria kuhamia DCP baada ya kukutana na Bw Gachagua nyumbani kwake Wamunyoro, Kaunti ya Nyeri.
