Mwashako adai alikataa shinikizo, pesa na kuamua kubaki wantam
MBUNGE wa Wundanyi, Danson Mwashako, amefichua kwa mara ya kwanza sababu iliyomfanya kujiuzulu kutoka kwenye vuguvugu la wabunge wa Pwani (CPG), akisema alishinikizwa kukihama chama cha Wiper kinachoongozwa na Bw Kalonzo Musyoka na upinzani na kuunga mkono serikali ya Kenya Kwanza. Bw Mwashako, anayelenga kuwania kiti cha ugavana wa Taita Taveta katika uchaguzi mkuu wa 2027 kupitia chama cha Wiper, alisema alipewa sharti la kujiunga na serikali au kujiondoa kwenye uwenyekiti wa CPG. Hata hivyo, Mbunge huyo ambaye anahudumu kwa muhula wa pili alisema aliamua kubaki katika upinzani akisema uaminifu wake kwa Wiper na msimamo wa kisiasa wa wafuasi wake ulikuwa muhimu kuliko nafasi ya uongozi katika kundi la wabunge wa Pwani. Nilikuwa mwenyekiti wa CPG kwa miaka mitatu, lakini Januari mwaka huu nikaamua kujiuzulu kwa sababu ya shinikizo. Niliambiwa ili niendelee kuwa mwenyekiti nilazima kuhama Wiper. Nikaamua kujiuzulu," alisema. Nafasi yake ilichukuliwa na mwakilishi wa wanawake wa Kilifi, Getrude Mbeyu. CPG ilianzishwa zaidi ya miongo miwili iliyopita kama jukwaa la viongozi waliochaguliwa kutoka Pwani kushirikiana kutetea maslahi ya eneo hilo, yakiwemo maendeleo na mgao wa rasilimali za kitaifa. Bw Mwashako alisema uamuzi wake wa kubaki upinzani ni kidemokrasia akiongeza kuwa wanasiasa wana haki ya kuwa na misimamo tofauti. "Kenya ni nchi ya kidemokrasia. Hakuna mtu anayepaswa kulazimishwa kujiunga na serikali," alisema. Alitoa mfano namna alitumwa na chama chake kwenda kumshawishi aliyekuwa Waziri wa Jinsia, Bi Aisha Jumwa, kujiunga na Wiper baada ya kuhama kwenye chama tawala cha UDA. "Bi Jumwa alipoondoka UDA, walinituma nimshawishi kwa maneno matamu," alisema. Kauli yake inajiri wakati viongozi wanaomuunga mkono Rais William Ruto wakiongeza juhudi za kuimarisha ushawishi wao Pwani kuelekea uchaguzi wa 2027. Gavana wa Kilifi Gideon Mung'aro hivi majuzi alimtaja Bw Mwashako kama mmoja wa viongozi wachache wa Pwani ambao bado wako katika upinzani. "Juzi tulikutana kama wabunge na magavana wote wa Pwani huko Mombasa na tukakubaliana kushirikiana na Rais Ruto. Imebakia mbunge mmoja tu, Bw Mwashako, ambaye bado yuko upande wa upinzani," alisema. Bw Mwashako amekuwa akijiunga na kampeni za kisiasa za Linda Mwananchi inayohusishwa na viongozi wa upinzani Rigathi Gachagua na Bw Musyoka. Msimamo wa Bw Mwashako umeifanya kaunti ya Taita Taveta kuwa baadhi ya maeneo muhimu ya ushindani kati ya serikali na upinzani. Alisema anataka kuwa gavana ili kushughulikia changamoto zinazowakabili wakazi, zikiwemo uhaba wa maji, huduma za afya, elimu, kilimo na mzozo wa muda mrefu kuhusu mgao wa mapato yanayotokana na Hifadhi za kitaifa ya Wanyamapori zaTsavo. Bw Mwashako pia ameikosoa serikali ya Kenya Kwanza kwa kutotimiza baadhi ya ahadi ilizowapa wakazi wa Pwani, akisema kujiunga na serikali kungeathiri uwezo wake wa kuiwajibisha.

Mwaka jana, Bw Sang alitangaza kuwa ifikiapo 2027 atakuwa na umri wa miaka 42 ambayo ni ya chini zaidi kwa mwanasiasa kustaafu. Hii ndiyo maana sasa alikuwa akilenga kiti cha ubunge wa Aldai.
